Our Rooms
At Honey Bee nursery we provide a safe nurturing environment for the children. We identify and follow children's interests. We use the information we have gathered via observations and liasasing with parents and carers to create fun and engaging activities. Children learn through observation - our staff reinforces good behavior practices and encourage children to be kind and considerate. We have designated space for children of different age groups. Children aged 6 month to 2 years are in the under 2's room while those that are aged 2 and over are in the over 2's room. In addition to our indoor space we also take children outside for the children outside to play. We follow a multi agency approach in order to help children grow and to have the best possible start in life . In the event that a child is seeing a speech therapist for example our summaries will be given to parents to share with the speech therapist in order to get a more holistic view of the child's development.
Baby Room
Honey Bee nursery understand that children and parents find it difficult when children start nursery. We are here to ensure the best possible start for children and a smooth transition period. We cater for babies from 6 months old. If your baby is between 6 months and 1.6 year, they will be cared for in our dedicated baby room.We focus on the 3 prime areas of development: communication and learning, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. Children are assigned a "key person" that will interact with the child and help the child grow into a confident individual. We provide sensory resources, toys, sing nursery rhymes and make sounds which invite responses from babies such as touching, smiling, smelling, feeling, exploring and listening. Communication and the development of language is encouraged in nursery settings, through the use of books, stories, songs and rhymes, water, light up resources, sand, paint, musical sounds and movement play. The methods and resources we use help children develop their language skills. We provide a homely environment. We follow a multi agency approach in order to provide a holistic learning environment for children.Once your baby has reached a year old and/or becomes more mobile, they will then progress to the toddler areas in the room. speech therapist in order to get a more holistic view of the child's development.

The 2 year old statutory check is carried out and the prime areas are summarised once children reach the age of 2. If the child is not on track their plan will be differentiated and individualised to fill the gap. We monitor different aspects of language and communication development and encourage talking and communication in a 1:3 ratio. Development matters guidelines are followed, this further helps staff to focus on the “next steps” and help children develop and reach their potential. Our summaries are shared with other agencies such as speech therapists for a more holistic approach to development. Once prime area targets have been reached we start focussing on specific areas ( maths, literacy, writing, expressive arts and design)The toddler room provides endless opportunities for the children to explore, including malleable play, a well stocked book corner, where language & communication is especially crucial and our the key staff are well equipped to help your child progress and to have lots of fun whist learning new words, nursery rhymes and songs. Sensory play include painting, musical instruments, play dough, sand & water, role play area, quiet corner , construction & block play using loose parts & table top sensory activities. This is also reflected in the outdoor play area on a bigger scale ie building using loose parts, climbing, balancing, using tricycles, scooters, and visiting the nearby field weather permitting
